THIS is an exciting new development! The Institute for International Law and Politics has just changed its name to the Institute for Law, Science and Global Security. In many respects, this name change reflects the direction in which the Institute has been moving for the past year or so. But it also reflects a desire to emphasize the increasing importance of interdisciplinary work across the fields of law– both international and domestic, the hard sciences, the social sciences, and policy studies. Give a number of recent projects of the Institute, including those in Nonproliferation, Law & Policy and Cybersecurity, this focus will be be able to add much to both the scholarly and policy debates. Under the able leadership of Institute Director, Chris Joyner, and Associate Director, Catherine Lotrionte, I know that the Institute will have great success!
