Last Wednesday, it was my honor to serve as the commentator at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars at the book launch of my great friend Michael J Glennon’s new book, The Fog of Law: Pragmatism, Security, and International Law.

In my opinion, Mike Glennon is one of the most thoughtful scholars of international law writing today. At a time when so much international legal scholarship is painting an overly optimistic picture of the international legal landscape, Mike provides us with an honest depiction of the realities of international law. I believe that his new book will have a critical impact on contemporary thinking about international law.
