August 8, 1945: Truman ratifies United Nations Charter

President Truman ratified the United Nations Charter 64 years ago today. The Charter would enter into force on October 24, 1945, in accordance with Article 110 of the Charter once all the five permanent members and a majority of other signators had deposited their instruments of ratification.
